Tour Description

Chardham Yatra is a mystical pilgrimage that take you through four sacred shrines of Uttrakhand. Uttrakhand is located in northern Part of India and known as Devbhoomi (land of gods). Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath are four famous shrines located in majestic mountains of Uttarakhand.Since ancient time, the importance of the Char Dham as pilgrimage destination has been grown considerably. Char Dham is currently one of the most famous pilgrimage circuits in India among the Hindu pilgrims across the world. This journey is not just about Devotion but also an experience of breathtaking Landscapes, Natural beauty and spiritual Awareness. Every year thousands of tourists visit these holy places in order to get blessing also to mesmerize by the beauty of the Himalaya. DAYWISE TOUR ITINERARY


    • The Very first day of your Char Dham Yatra start by picked up from Delhi Airport / Railway station by our representative or driver of Express India Journey and he will brief you about the tour program and provide necessary details for a safe journey.

      Later all the guidance you will then drive to Haridwar, known as a holy place for Hindus where the River Ganges exits the Himalayan foothills.

      Upon arrival, you'll check-in to your hotel, where the rest of the day is free at leisure.

      Overnight stay at your hotel.

    • Early morning, you'll visit Har-ki-pauri at sunrise for the Morning Prayer and take a sacred bath in the River Ganga. Afterward, return to the hotel for breakfast then check-out and drive to Barkot, with a possible visit to Kempty Fall en route.

      Upon arrival at Barkot, check-in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day with photogenic views. Barkot is an ideal destination for Shri Yamunotri Dham, located 45 km before the Yamunotri temple, offering panoramic views of the Bandar punch peak.

    • Early morning post breakfast, you'll drive to Janki Chatti, the starting point for the 6 km trek to Yamunotri. On arrival at Yamunotri, take a holy dip in Surya Kund (Hot spring) and visit Yamunotri temple to take darshan of "Yamuna Ji" at Divya Shila.
      The temple, situated about 3,293 meters above sea level, features a silver idol of Goddess Yamuna made of black marble, bedecked with garlands. Yamunotri stands with its enormous mountain peaks, glaciers, and the gushing waters of Yamuna, the second most sacred river of India, originating from here. It is one of the pilgrimage sites in the Chota Char Dham Yatra, Uttarakhand.
      Later, trek back to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot.

    • Post breakfast check-out and drive to Uttarkashi, located on the banks of river Bhagirathi. Uttarkashi is known for its historical monuments, temples, and ashrams. It isalso known as Somya Kashi or Shivnagri, is a Hindu religious place for spiritual and adventurous tourism.

      On the way, visit the Vishwanath Temple, the most important and ancient holy shrine in the region, dedicated to Lord Vishvanath and overseen by Lord Shiva. Later, check-in to your hotel and enjoy your stay at leisure.

    • After breakfast, you'll proceed to Gangotri Dham for an excursion tour. Enjoy the picturesque Harsil Valley en route,it is located on the bank of Bhagirathi River with magnificent views of the Himalayas.
      Upon arrival at Gangotri, visit Gangotri Mata Temple and perform Puja.

      According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Ganga, daughter of Lord Brahma, appeared as a waterway to absolve the sins of King Bhagirath's ancestors after his intense penance for centuries. Lord Shiva caught her in his tangled locks to reduce the impact of her fall. She is also known as Bhagirathi at her source. The Gangotri temple, devoted to the Goddess, was built in the mid-18th century by Gorkha Commander Amar Singh Thapa and is perched at a height of 3,042 meters (10,000 feet).

      Later, drive back to Uttarkashi, enjoying the photogenic views and breathtaking landscape.

    • After breakfast, check-out and drive to Guptkashi, a renowned spiritual site in Uttarakhand, nestled in the lush green Mandakini river valley. In early summer, when magnolia flowers bloom, the air is filled with their sweet fragrance. Guptkashi, set against the backdrop of high snow-covered peaks like Chaukhamba, is a natural paradise.

      Upon arrival, visit the Ardhnarishwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, where the Pandavas from the Mahabharata legend once searched for the Lord. Another attraction is Manikarnika Kund, where the holy rivers Ganga and Yamuna meet. Later check-in your hotel and free at leisure.

      Overnight at Guptakashi/Phata/Sitapur hotel.

    • Early morning, you'll drive to Sonprayag, from here you need to take a local jeep or Max to reach Gaurikund.Upon arrival in Gaurikund, you will start your Trek towards The Kedarnath Dham , which is long and beautiful man-made trail.

      (Approx charges for pony: Rs.2200-3200/ per person Dolly charges INR 10000-15000 per person.)

      Alternatively, you can opt for a helicopter ride (subject to tickets). The driver will transfer you to your helipad location (Phata, Guptkashi, Sirsi, etc.) as per the helicopter ticket time. Please inform the driver of the timings mentioned on the ticket. Different air travel services have different locations for their helicopters. The driver will pick you up and drop you off at the hotel.

      Advance booking for the helicopter is highly recommended . (You can pre-book your Heli ride from Express India Journey.)

      On arrival you will check-in your hotel and camp. After freshen up perform Pooja and Darshan of Shri Kedarnath Temple.

      Overnight stay at hotel or in camp in Kedarnath.

    • Early in the morning, you can attend the prayer ceremony at Kedarnath Temple. After breakfast, begin your trek back to Gaurikund.

      Upon arrival in Gaurikund, take a local jeep or Max to reach Sonprayag (3 km, on direct payment basis, approx. 100-200 per person). If time permits, visit Triyuginarayan Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to God Vishnu, where it is believed that Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati, witnessed by Vishnu. A unique feature of this temple is the perpetual fire burning in front of it, believed to have been burning since the divine marriage.

      Later, continue drive back to Guptakashi and check-in your hotel and relax after a long trek.

      Overnight at Guptakashi/Phata/Sitapur hotel.

    • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Badrinath . Shri Badrinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, with a legend that Vishnu turned into a child and was cared for by Goddess Lakshmi in the form of a Badri Tree. Vishnu meditated in the Himalayas for humanity's welfare, and Lakshmi protected him from the freezing cold. Pleased by her devotion, Vishnu named the place Badrikashram, which later became Badrinath.

      Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and freshen up. Later visit Tapt Kund, a natural thermal spring at the entrance of the shrine, where bathing is a ritual believed to have healing properties of sulphur and the power to absolve sins.

      Afterwards, visit the last sacred shrine of the Char Dham Yatra, Badrinath Temple. The idol of Lord Vishnu is a self-manifested black Shaligram stone, discovered by Adi Shankaracharya in the Alaknanda River. After performing pooja and prayer, you can explore the nearby market.

      Overnight stay at Badrinath.

    • Today morning, after bathing in the Taptkund , visit Shri Badrinath Temple once again for the Brahma Kamal , which is significant for the Pind Dan Shradh of ancestors (Pitru). Post breakfast, you can explore Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Mata Murti Temple, Bhim Kund, and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River.

      Later, drive back to Rudraprayag, covering Vishuprayag, Karnaprayag, and Nandprayag en route.Rudraprayag, named after Lord Shiva's Rudra avatar, is an ancient holy town located at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers.

      Upon arrival, visit Sangam and Koteshwar Mahadev Temple, then check-in to your hotel.

      Overnight stay at Rudraprayag.

    • After breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive to Rishikesh , stopping at Dhari Devi Temple en-route. This temple is dedicated to Maa Dhari Devi, another form of Goddess Kali, who is considered the guardian deity of Uttarakhand and worshipped as the protector of the Char Dham.

      Continue driving to Rishikesh, stop at Devprayag , where the holy rivers Bhagirathi and Alaknanda meet and merge into the Ganges, making it a unique pilgrimage site. It is also believed that King Dashrath and Lord Ram from the epic Ramayana performed devotion here.

      Upon arrival in rishikesh, check-in to your hotel and later you can visit Ram Jhula , Laxman Jhula , Triveni Ghat , Temples , and Ashrams.The main temple in Rishikesh is Raghunathji Temple , dedicated to Lord Ram.

    • Post breakfast check-out and drive back to Delhi. On arrival you will be transfer to Railway station or airport in time.
