Bhaktapur was on an ancient trade route connecting India and Tibet, which contributed to the kingdom's importance and wealth. Bhaktapur, Nepal: an ancient Newar Kingdom dating back to the 12th century, located 8 miles from Kathmandu. Bhaktapur was the largest and most powerful of the three major Newar Kingdoms, along with Kathmandu and Patan. Today, Bhaktapur is known and visited for its well-preserved ancient architecture, which includes courtyards and UNESCO world heritage sites, many of which survived the 2015 earthquake.

Itinerary 

Day 1 – Arrival at Kathmandu airport

Upon arrival from Kathmandu airport you will be transfer by road to your hotel.  Rest of the free at leisure or you can stroll around your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 2 - Kathmandu city tour

Optional : Early morning you can take a mountain flight to explore the Mt. Everest and Himalaya range (1hrs journey) USD 200-225 Per person.  Mountain flights are subject to operate depending on weather conditions. Post breakfast you will follow the half day city tour of Kathmandu including Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage,  Kal Bhairav Temple and Telju Temple. Post lunch you will be visiting Patan (Lalitpur) including Durbar Square and Swayambhu nath Stupa. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 - Kathmandu - Bhaktapur - Nagarkot (40kms/3-4hrs)

Post breakfast you will check-out from your hotel and later transfer by road to Nagarkot via visiting Bhaktapur en-route.  Here you will visiting Durbar Square, temples and museum. Later continue drive to Nagarkot and on arrival you will check-in your hotel and relax. This small town located just 40kms away from Kathmandu city.  It is famous for its famous view of Himalaya including Mount Everest.  It is also famous for its sunrise and sunset view.  Later you can visit some important tourist palaces likes monasteries and Temple. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 4 - Bhaktapur -Kathmandu Airport departure

Post breakfast at the hotel, Check out form the hotel and transfers to the Kathmandu airport in time  airport for your onward journey.
